Aubretia mid morning
Oil on wood panel 7" x 5.5" £50 plus postage & packing
When I went up to the attic this morning I saw that the aubretia had perked up and were smiling at me so I had another shot at them, this time with more light on the subject.
Thanks Jala, I use quarter inch or one eighth inch thick plywood which I get cut at the DIY store into 8 inch squares or whatever size I want. Compared to hardboard cutting plywood yourself is tedious and not easy to cut well. One sheet costs me just under £10 and I get about 18 pieces out of that but then I have to prepare them with 3 costs of acrylic gesso, waiting for it to dry and lightly sanding them in between.

What a lovely contrast to yesterday!
Yes it was Sarah !
Hi Sheila, This painting and yesterday's painting would make lovely companion pieces. They're wonderful!
Thanks for your kind comment Janelle.
Oh wow, how interesting the difference Sheila... Wonderful companion pieces, I always love to hear about your process.
How extremely lovely! I love them together, too.
P.S. What kind of wood do you paint on, and how do you prepare it?
Hi Diane, yes, the ambient light made a lot of difference to the way I approached the same subject I think.

Love the simplicity!
