Norfolk green turnips

This painting has been sold

Oil on wood panel 7.5" x 8"

I will cook these now but I must admit I bought them for the colour and then I went in Ikea this morning and they had an offer on tea towels, soft cotton, some with a red stripe and some with blue. So I bought two lots. The folds are tricky!

Beautiful piece. You really captured all the values of the "whites."

Turnips always make me laugh.
It's a Blackadder thing.
Beautiful color and sense of depth, and the fabric looks very fabricky.

Hi Dar, you have now made me google "Baldrick turnip joke" and I have been chuckling to myself again browsing through the results. Yes, he's one of the great characters isn't he. Glad you got to see that. I do like turnips actually. Keep looking out for some with the green bits still sprouting off the top. They chop everything back in the supermarkets here. Thanks for the visit.
