The Carousel
Gouache and ink on paper. Approx 10" x 7". Please email me if you are interested in purchasing I think I saw this children's carousel off the Promenade des Anglais in Nice. It was nestled among the trees in a small park.
These new paintings are just thrilling! The colors are so vibrant and I love your linework (pen and ink?)... just to die for. It's a whole new side of your art I haven't seen and I love it.
mattise and france was the first thing i thought seeing this and then i started reading, fantastic sheila,it looks so happy happy happy...how about bonnard? love your self portraits too, they are so strong and moody...
Thanks all for visiting. I got home yesterday and despite the northern sunshine here am feeling the cold! I'm glad the paintings have a French feel to them. I missed Bonnard Rob. Some of his are in St Paul de Vence (up in the hills beyond Nice) but I never managed to get up there this time. Yes, he is one of my favourite figurative painters too.

These studies are fun, Sheila. They feel lively fresh and...French!
Hope you're having a great getaway.
