Anemones in the attic

interior painting still life floral

Oil on hardboard 8" x 8" £65 (British pounds) plus postage & packing (£3.50 to UK; £7 to rest of world)

I have always loved anemones and when I spotted these in the supermarket I had to buy them. Another painting of them coming up soon.

Yes I love painting 'portraits' of anemones. Each one seems to have it's own personality....but maybe that's just me imbuing human traits on vegetable matter again!!
Lovely painting though Sheila. Look forward to the next one.

Sheila, I have to tell you this morning very early I was trudging to the back of my house and there was some dim lighting present with reflections bouncing here and there. And in my half asleep state I thought ooh sweet, it looks like a Sheila Vaughn painting. (:

Thanks so much Rahina for your kind words. Buy the anemones while you can - they never seem to be available for long.

Hi Marjorie, I was thinking of you when I was painting this. You do such stunning floral paintings and its true what you say about flowers having different personalities.

Dear Diane, your comment was so sweet and made me smile. My mum often says - well I'm not sure about that one -- its a "bit dark" and I just laugh and say "I'm a bit dark mum".
