i love the simplicity and the mysterious quality of these 2 paintings Sheila. And thankyou so much for the link to Sandra Floods blog. My goodness i was more than gobsmacked! Happy painting today!
Don, thanks for your comment. The rich colour is I think something that has been "festering" in my head for ages. Giving myself permission to use it is amusing to me (I still love Hammershoi!). As to the Addis connection, I must admit it wasn't a conscious one but I'm finding that most marks we make have their root somewhere in our past. We just don't always realise it.

Thanks Sally - and glad you enjoyed Sandra's paintings.
something so atmospheric about these last few paintings, from another dimension:)
Thanks Rahina - that is a really nice compliment. I appreciate it.
Love these last two paintings Sheila, seems you are pulling apart the vocabulary of reality. Yep and Sandra Floods blog was pretty good.
Hi Simon, that's an interesting phrase - pulling apart the vocabulary to get at the meaning beneath. Yep, I suppose that's what I'm trying to do.
Wonderful.
Love the color and dynamics of the shapes.
This feels related to your Addis experience...is it? I'm drawn to the simplicity and rich color...getting close to an abstract expressionist quality.
Thank you Patrice.

This is one of my favorites, Sheila! (Pueblo spirits.)
Thanks Linny - I'm intrigued by "Pueblo spirits" - what is that?
