Shadows on the land

Acrylic on hardboard 12" x 12"

It started as another broken colour field exercise but it turned into a kind of surreal landscape.

Key words: "it turned into". Thanks for letting it happen.

A profound work, Sheila. Minimal and richly expressive at once. The eye moves back and forth, seeing the illusionism and then the surface as object...it all works so well.

Sam, it's interesting to learn to listen to that inner voice. I'm even beginning to see when a piece is approaching the (temporary) finishing line - ie, the first lap.

Brooding, Gothic.
Human life passes across the landscape, makes it's mark.

There's more than meets the eye.
