I dreaded that first Robin so

But He is mastered, now,
I'm some accustomed to Him grown,
He hurts a little though -

Photomontage and acrylic on wood panel 12" x 12"

All her poems are poignant but I find this one particularly expressive.

Girls as guardians standing picket. Oh my.
Don't you wish you could hear what ED herself would say about these paintings? I do. Btw, don't loose your answer in humility when honesty is so much more interesting.

LOL - Sam, I reckon she might say something quite dry and witty. People often see her as morose (she's always rabbiting on about death) but I think she had a sense of humour too. There's that "Take me as you find me" kind of feel. You know: "I went to heaven.." not "I dreamed I went to heaven" or "I wished I could see heaven" - no, she flippin well went there and then she says what it was like - it was a small town. She is quite definite about that. Well you see now you are asking me to answer honestly, I am going on and on and probably boring the socks off people..dear old Em eh..

Hi Sheila,

Love this painting, very moving. Something beautiful and terrifying in it. These paintings are pulling out deep emotions. I think ED would be both thrilled and amazed to think you were doing this in 2011.
XO Barbara

Hi Barbara, yeh I think the paintings are digging a little bit. It's interesting to me how they are evolving.
