Presentiment (re-worked)

- is that long Shadow - on the Lawn -
Indicative that Suns go down -

Photomontage and acrylic on wood panel 12" x 12"

This was done on Sunday evening - after the sun had gone down incidentally. It was meant as a "starter" for this painting. And maybe it still is, but when I got to look at it this morning it seemed to be saying all I wanted it to say.

Do nothing more to it! I've just caught up with your new series and am impressed. To make poetry from poetry is not an easy task, but you're doing it beautifully.

Harry, good to see you here and thanks so much for the encouraging words. I don't really know how I'm doing but as always you get an "inner feeling" as to whether something is on the right lines or not, and this one kind of was.

Harry, just been along to your place. Your recent painting "Cakes at the club" is a stunning piece. I'm going to keep going back looking at that one. It has a magic quality to it.

Many thanks. Sometimes things come together unexpectedly, as in this case, and you just have to go with it.

I also like this as is. Besides, you have me questioning myself (further), because these can change when I least expect it.

Sam and Stephen, thanks for the encouragement. Someone said a painting is never finished. I also remember a story of an artist who spent years on the same painting.(I mean he didn't do any other paintings). So all the paintings we do are maybe just one painting. Where do you stop and start again. Does it matter?

I love this and all the photo montages. You are such an elegant and mysterious painter. Each time I open your blog I'm enchanted.

Thanks Barbara - I think they probably turn out as mysterious because I'm mystified myself !
