Travelling

I am off to Ethiopia again tomorrow for three weeks. The website is still not active and I'm still not sure why but it will be more difficult for me to keep in touch with technical support whilst I am away so that might have to be shelved. We'll see. It's good to be going back to Ethiopia and seeing old friends and colleagues. I am packing my sketch book this time and will try to get some sketching in but it might be "rapid style" as I won't have a lot of spare time. If I can I'll try to post the occasional sketch or photo. Back in the UK on 6th Feb. Bye for now.

These two studies completed at last night's studio session were done in Pitt charcoal on paper. They measure approximately 14" x 12"

Update on 2011

Not much is going right for me in 2011. First of all a solo exhibition of my paintings at the People's Gallery has had to be cancelled because of a burst water pipe over the christmas period (thank goodness I hadn't hung the paintings)(and thankfully no one else's work was damaged either). I was due to have the opening night on Friday (tomorrow). Apologies to all who made plans to come and thanks for your support. Secondly my website is not loading properly yet - and I'm not convinced it's just a case of waiting but I have no option at the moment but to try that.
The good news is that the 38 paintings which were due to be in the solo show have now been taken by the Millyard Gallery in Uppermill. This is a lovely gallery, a family concern, and very professionally run. They will give me a whole wall of space so that is great and I am really happy about that.
Thirdly I have just finished the first painting in ages. So I am about to post that now.

New Website

Well, I do have a new website and it does seem to be accessible from my computer here - just that friends are telling me they can't get through. Software support seem to think this is normal and I just have to be patient. So maybe it is just a case of watching the pot boil.. serves me right for jumping up and down for joy that I had a website at last that I liked, LOL.
If anyone does get through (the link in the right hand column under Email) - then please can you just let me know if you get chance.
