Clutter
Charcoal on paper 9" x 12"(cropped)
I feel as if I need a break from the following: acrylic paint; digital images; photographs; what is going on inside my head; sitting down to work..
I like the idea of just drawing around the house but looking for the big shapes among the small clutter of daily life. Someone who does that exceptionally well is the British artist, Roy Freer. Take a look at his drawings. I find them quite an inspiration.
Since first posting this I have cropped it. You can see the clutter better now. But you can't see it perfectly, because,.... it's clutter.

Sheila, I like this! Full marks for clutter, like archaeological findings- treasures, relics in a cave -also a lovely rhythm to it.
It is a coincidence that your previous Dickinson poem/painting – ‘I am nobody’, is one of the poems that a musician/composer friend of my daughter set to music a few months ago which she recently sang and is recording! Neat, eh?
Hi Marcia, yes, I also like the idea of just interpreting what is there - no arrangement but finding a plan within what is actually before you. Wow, fancy that about the Nobody poem! It hits the mark with a lot of people I think. Maybe because this world is so "celebrity driven" but every single one of us has a place and is important.
It's sublime.
Thanks Sally..are you going to do more 'houses settling down into snow' scenes? I love that idea.
Sheila, well I can't use a lack of subject matter as an excuse here in the Great Lakes, but I might do another to accompany the first.
