I have been working hard painting since my last post. A lot of the output was the result of a process of free expression, which I really needed. Eventually a few weeks ago I went back to painting faces and combining them with a contextual background relating to the landscape of the north of England - a landscape I am most familiar with. Five of these recent paintings are now on :
So click on the link if you are interested to see them. You will find them in the new section called "Faces and Places". Here is a taster:

Glad to see your return, and I hope that you are too. The "new" website is quiet and reserved and easy to negotiate (no 'look-at-me, look-at-me'!). Well worth the wait.
Hi Sally - no the website itself is not new, just the section called Faces and Places. It's nice to know you like it - thanks.
Hi Sheila,
Good to see you again. I love seeing what you've been up to. All such interesting faces, but the missionaries are amazing!
Sam, good to speak again! Yup, I like doing faces!
These are great Sheila,
I miss your work when you don't blog. I had a show about a year ago with a friend called Faces and Places, and like the idea of peoplein context with their locations. Super work.

Whoops, didn't realise I was using a title you had used Barbara! It must have been subliminal! Thanks for the visit and your kind comments.
Hi Sheila,
I didn't mean to worry you. I am certain I'm not the first to use that title, and I don't mind at all if you use it. Actually Mac uses it on one of their programs I think.
I didn't borrow it from them. We all have faces and go to places.
XO Barbara
Barbara, no, lol, it takes more than that to worry me! I agree, it's a "naturally arising" title for a series. It's just I do like to think of something original if I can. Thanks for your concern.
glad you're back Sheila - I love your new 'Faces and Places' paintings! x
Thanks Annie, that's sweet of you.
Sheila--great to see your new paintings...wonderful works. Be well and happy painting.
Don, nice of you to visit and keep tabs! Good to hear from you.
