Burlesque?

Oil and acrylic on cotton canvas board 16" x 12"

It's the oddness of the human condition that strikes me - our awkwardness and desire to create and hide behind different persona.  And it's that I think that lures me away from the much more fluid abstract paintings to something more recognisable, but perhaps something we don't really want to recognise.

I can certainly relate to your thoughts on perhaps not recognizing who we are.
Since my father's death in May I catch glimpses of myself and feel I'm turning into him...

I think what I'm saying Bill is not that we don't recognise who we are but that we are each of us a number of different "persona". If you doubt this ask yourself - is there one person in the whole world who knows you totally, with whom you would share every single thought? I doubt it. I am not talking about things like "split personalities". I am talking about the ordinary human condition of everyone.
