Woman with a stoat

Oil and acrylic on cotton canvas board 16" x 12"

Inspired by Leonardo's "Lady with an ermine" and Freud's early paintings of his wife Kitty Garman.  I enjoyed painting this so much.

Love this portrait, Sheila.
Also has distant echoes of Picasso's
portrait of Gertrude Stein.

Thank you Sandra, I'm glad you are enjoying them.

Thanks Bill, I've looked at the Gertrude Stein painting so often I am not surprised a bit of it has stuck but to be even remotely compared to the Master is such a massive compliment!

This is awesome, Sheila!!

Coincidentally, I've always wanted to paint one based on that painting of me with my Siamese. :)
