I love Sandra Flood's work too. In fact she creates deep, moody atmospheres just like you do.

XOXOXOXOXO BarbaraBarbara Muirhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01342757136485853833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34113196.post-61075341155857621902014-06-22T13:40:48.501+01:002014-06-22T13:40:48.501+01:00Hi Sandra, well the book is worth a big shout! I always wanted to do a show of paintings based on songs. I remember when I was a little girl we had an art teacher who would play a piece of music or song and we would have to create a drawing on how the music made us feel.I remember it well even though it was decades ago!
sandra floodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12309366740236791609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34113196.post-14001244419711119442014-06-22T03:37:18.918+01:002014-06-22T03:37:18.918+01:00I'm liking the look of this piece...yes, it...I'm liking the look of this piece...yes, it's different...but the 'underlying- you' still comes through.Roxanne Steedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13672037058284711345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34113196.post-75751157432160623342014-06-21T17:07:05.870+01:002014-06-21T17:07:05.870+01:00Hey, thank you Mark, nice to see you on the blog. I think I did do a painting called "Girl from the North" a while ago. It was the same model I know. I'll see if I can track it down out of interest.
Glad you liked yesterday's. I love that expression "a corker", lol.Sheila Vaughanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11202418013915704272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34113196.post-57935476923537795472014-06-21T16:52:55.853+01:002014-06-21T16:52:55.853+01:00I'm fairly certain there is no problem using a...I'm fairly certain there is no problem using a song title, or any other string of words, as a painting title.
Ah yes, Bonnie Tyler! One of my favourites from that time too :)
and this painting reminded me slightly of one you did some time ago, "Northern Girl" I think it was titled, also a blonde girl.
Your paintings are always a pleasure to see, and yesterday's was a corker :)

Mark Wilkinson
Hexham
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
