My favourite scarf

This painting has been Sold

I have very little time for painting at the moment but I am doing my best to keep the blog going. I attended my life drawing class again last night and it was very good but the 2 drawings I produced the teacher took them to display on the wall so I aint got em anymore. What work I am managing to do I am not putting up for sale as I need to get some decent pieces together to select 4 from to submit to a show in London when I get back from overseas at the end of February. So sorry about the discrepancy with the blog title! I will sell again later on.

    another lovely piece Sheila! I wanted to follow up with you about Bernard Dunstan. He has written several books. The ones I have are Starting to Paint Still Life, Painting Methods of the Impressionists and Composing Your Paintings- all good. I think all are available thru Amazon. My favorite is Painting Methods of the Impressionists-the title is a bit misleading- he actually goes back to Constable and Turner and forward to Sickert and Whistler. Its a wonderful resource. There is also a new book about Dunstan which looks like it came out in the last year or so - I don't know if he is still with us- if so, he's in his late 80s.

    Yes I think he is still with us. The show I mentioned was the Royal Academy Summer show last year and I do not think they display posthumous paintings. What a talent he has. Wonderful paintings. Thank you for the information Deborah. I will certainly be looking these titles up and buying at least one.

    This is nice, I like the way the scarf follows the upright lines of the table - it leads your eye up to wander around the table top.
