Addis Life I

Oil on Daler board 18" x 14"
Price: £60 or $US 120 plus postage & packing

This is the first of what I hope will be more of scenes from Addis Ababa. I tried to keep the painting quite loose and concentrate mainly on the abstract shapes of the rooves. That's a little lady hanging out her washing if you can make her out. I didn't want to fuss too much over the details.

  1. Sheila, As with all your art, this painting is strongly designed. When I first saw it, I thought this was a still-life of pencils, books and papers on a desk. I was thrilled to see it then as a street scene from above. I find your art exciting because it moves finely along the line between abstract and representational art. Marie

  2. Ah! that's nice. I do love working with shapes I must admit. Thank you Marie.
