Confinement

This painting has been Sold

Oil on hardboard 8" x 10"

I got back from Ethiopia on Wednesday after a tiring but enjoyable three weeks. Not a minute to even grab a pencil and sketch. When I picked up the brushes this morning it felt totally weird, as if I had not painted for years. A really odd sensation. And this is what came out. It is a so typical north-of- England scene, or at least it is for me. Nice to be back anyway.

  1. Welcome back....the curtains half drawn seem ominous, but the light gleaming outside seems mysteriously warm. Transitions are always hard.
    Nicely done. Nina
