Acrylic on hardboard 8" x 8".
I once worked with a climber who said he knew when he got up in the mornings whether he would be climbing that day - he meant whether he had enough nerve. It didn't happen often (he was a good climber) but sometimes it did. I was scared of painting today - don't know why. I started this in oils but I was so unsure about every step that eventually I wiped it off and started again in acrylics which are so friendly because you can keep working over the top without accumulating "mud". I like the way you can encourage the colours to "emerge" and you don't have to make so many definite decisions at the outset.
I don't see the fear- its lovely!
ReplyDeleteNo, the fear gradually went away as I continued to ignore it. It got fed up of sitting on the side waiting. I think when we are learning to do something there is often a drop in performance or a fear of a drop in performance because you are beginning to recognise the process as you are engaged in it. Thanks for the enabling comment anyway Deborah.
