Acrylic on hardboard 7.5" x 7.5"
I thought this one was going to turn out to be quite a boring composition. Then the big white house at the back started to change itself into a wedge shape and it sort of carried through into a branch of the tree. It was strange, almost did it on its own. As to the acrylic, I fully intended to transfer to oils after the first stage but as sometimes happens the acrylics seemed to be telling me - no, stick with us, stick with us. :-)
I think this one is really charming Sheila. I read in Reid's "How to Buy and Sell Art" that bridges are among the subject matter that don't always sell too well. I can't understand why as I find them so appealing.
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting Triecia. I also find bridges very appealing - that notion of crossing over, making a different detour. The issue is of course to what extent will we compromise in order to sell our work? At the end of the day I think most of us will paint what we want to paint anyway :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Triecia.
Yes I agree; our world would become a very barren place artistically if artists painted primarily for a market.
ReplyDeleteLove this warm peaceful creation. Your work is all very nice. Please keep it up. Ray
ReplyDeleteThank you Ray, that was a lovely peaceful afternoon!
