Sunflowers on yellow (revised)

Oil on wood panel 8" x 8"

Second of the sunflower paintings. Such wonderful flowers aren't they but when Van Gogh painted them they didn't have much kudos at all. They were considered common weeds I believe and people thought he was strange to bother painting them!
(If you remember this image with 2 stone bottles to the right hand side, you aren't imagining things. I didn't feel they were contributing anything and I painted them out).
