Interior with sunflowers

This painting has been sold by the Millyard Gallery, Stalybridge

Oil on hardboard 8" x 8"

Love this round backed wooden chair. It belonged to my gran. I inherited a few of her things. It was painted yellow years and years ago while she was still using them.

  1. I like your design with the chair up close and moving off the edge. Reminds me of the unusual and compelling compositions of Degas.

  2. That was more or less how I found it Don. I rearranged the cloth at the back a little but the sunflowers were already there from a close up painting I had done the other day.

  3. I'm really able to recognise your work now Sheila...no matter what the subject. Couldn't really say what it is but you've really developed your own style now...great!

  6. Hi Sheila, I love these painting you do of the rooms in your home. They are really interesting and even with so much going on they read just right.

  7. Hi Marjorie, I have decided to stop worrying about style :o) - maybe in a bit I'll be worrying that all my paintings look the same or something like that. Thanks for the comments though, it was nice.

  8. Hi Edward, wish I could paint more like Morandi. I love his spareness and introspection.
