Hi Sheila! I love this composition, lately I've noticed - I don't know if it's intentional or not - that you are bringing in a lot of abstract elements into your work. It brings a fresh view to everything and makes the work even more engaging.
Thanks so much for the "tag"! I did not tag you back, although it was tempting ;) It was difficult to select only 5 artists - there's just an incredible amount of talent out there.
Thanks Materese. I am enjoying looking at objects within an environment and describing both. I love both the negative and positive shapes they make. Thank you for not tagging me back. I'm too ancient to play it more than once :)
Thanks Don. Since you left your comment I have re-edited the pic to make it resemble more the piece itself which was not quite as dark as the original photo showed. It's so difficult to represent accurately some of these darkish paintings.
Hi Sheila. I was tagged by Stephen Magsig along with you and found your blog that way. Very lovely work- I love the rich darks and simple honest presentation of the objects. I spent a lot of time in England or at least Wiltshire in 89-90 (English boyfriend) and have been a confirmed Anglophile for many years- so its nice to "meet" you. I'll be putting a link to you on my blog.

ReplyDeleteRich, saturated color, beautifully painted. Nice work, Sheila!

ReplyDeleteSheila, Love your new work, I have also tagged you so do as you like. No need to add more tags, Best Stephen
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your support Stephen. I really value it. I think I'll sit out the tagging thing for now but thanks again for linking me!
