It's quite interesting to paint the house where you live. This is quite a big house, too big really for just the two of us but it gives us space to do our own thing when we want to and we have the attic floor as a sort of studio. It's an interesting journey to make around your own house, seeing things a bit differently.
I just love this Sheila. The design and cropping are very much your thing. Creates a very strong mood. As I have said before, your work does remind me of Bernard Dunstan, but it has a solidity which is more appealing and modern I think.
ReplyDeleteDeborah thank you for those generous comments. I admire Dunstan's work enormously but didn't particularly have it in mind when I did this. I remember at the Royal Academy Show last year though going back several times to his pieces, they are so enthralling.
