This painting is done in oils on hardboard, 8" x 8", £50 or $US100 plus postage and packing
Learning strategy: This one posed the challenge of covering every centimetre of the board with a different colour or colour mix. All the shapes were small and discrete. I almost had no option but to just lay the colours on and leave them. A particular challenge was to still have a focal point. It was the bicycle but not everyone would see it maybe unless you were looking for it. So I tried to make the window box tulips just above the bike the brightest white. It is titanium mixed with a tiny spot of bright green.
You've packed so much air and light into an 8" square that it's amazing. Just beautiful, and very evocative, I can feel the air here.

ReplyDeleteWonderful work on this one. It is so alive. There is nothing better than sitting in the sun, at a cafe in Amsterdam.
ReplyDeleteAh Bill, you have been there I can see. I totally agree. What a wonderful way to spend an hour or two. Thank you for visiting!
