Oil on hardboard 8" x 8"
It's winter - turnips, shallots, garlic, all sorts of good things to go in stews. I'm not too bad at stews; it's really quite difficult to mess them up (unless it's burning them when engrossed in painting). I tried to keep the edges and colours soft again.
I have neglected this blog lately which I don't like to do. I have been doing a few Stalybridge scenes (see other blog) but also I am working on a big portrait commission which is taking some time.
This painting is beautifully intimate. I can almost smell the wonderful stew cooking on the stove.
ReplyDeleteThank you Janelle - glad you like it - it's stew time tonight!
