When I work in acrylic I like to take quite a hard edged graphic approach, actually drawing with the paint. With oils I have tended to work much more softly, blending the paint, "polishing" it  as Emily Ball might have said.  So I wondered what would happen if I used a more graphic approach with oils.  Here I put the paint on predominantly with knives and used the paint tubes themselves to make the marks. The scratchy results are satisfying to me.
