"Warrior" - air dry clay, plaster and acrylic paint approx 8" x 9" x 7"
The first stage of this was completed in air dried clay about a year ago but he just sat in the corner in an embarrassed white state. I kept meaning to throw him away but I didn't. Then a few weeks ago I wrapped some plaster impregnated bandage round his head - see if it made him feel better, lol. Today I thought I would do some spontaneous colouring and distressing of it all and now I feel he's beginning to speak at last. Love the rough edges and I love the way the paint sinks into the absorbant surface as and where it chooses. I don't think it needs any more colour but after a few days of drying I'll try and seal it with a matte sealer. I do like the shiny shellac sealers for some things but not for this one.
I'm learning a lot but I need to speed up. (As I thought drawing is not helping that much....)
Plus, I need to sort out a proper background situation for photographing this stuff.
