Drawing - pencil on paper 16" x 11"
After finishing Rock face (below) I wanted to look at the variety of approach that other sculptors had taken. These are some sketches I did of works by Henry Moore, Derain and Giacometti. It was interesting to see that the most "realistic" and also the most "abstract" (in my opinion) were both by Derain. Hope you can read the writing. It's small. Derain's "L'homme au visage tordu" is even smaller than my Rock face! Plus he cast it in bronze !!
